Veata Chea is the human personfication of the Kingdom of Cambodia located in Southeast Asia just east of Thailand and west of Vietnam. A quiet girl struggling with her traditional values and her need to become a modern woman, the Khmer attends Liberty Universirty where she is majoring in Asian History and works part-time at a small cafe in the Charleston area. She is the only child to a man known as Sothear Chea and quite possibly his most precious and only treasure.

Muunokhoi Borjigin. Better known by the residents of Liberty as Veata's ex-Nanny, Muunokhoi took up the role as Veata's caretaker when she was two-years-old. The arrangement came to be through a conflict between Muunokhoi's grandfather and her father that to this day remains obscure to both. During the times the two men would leave to dicuss matters Muunokhoi was left in charge of the young Veata and from then on and for every trip that his family took to Cambodia he would care for her. Veata would even come to name Muunkohi "Moon" due to the fact that his name was so difficult for the young girl to pronounce and when speaking to him to her father he became "my Moon". As so much time was spent together as they both grew older Veata became very attached to the Mongolian boy but when she was eight-years-old the trips abruptly came to an end. It wasn't till Veata came to Liberty and followd a cute kitten that she accidentally stumbled upon her favorite caretaker and the two reunited. Just weeks after reestablishing their relationship the female moved in with him much to the surprise of many. Presently the two are becoming as close to one another as they used to be and Muunokhoi has taken up his old role as her guardian and ever vigilant protector.

Matthew Williams. Veata first stumbled upon Matthew just one month after her arrival to the city of Liberty. The two came across one another when Matthew read over one of her entries detailing her arranged marriage to a court official meant to take place in late 2011. As a student majoring in psychology that had also written his thesis based upon the effects of parental expectations upon the mental health of children Matthew began to message the female with concerns and unoffensive views of her situation. She was quick to message him back but as the conversation progressed there came an eventual agreement to meet one another so as the discussion could be taken even further.
